Seasonal overview

As summer progresses, we are coming off a period of excessive rain, coupled with high humidity and warm nights, which caused extensive lawn fungus issues. Your lawn may have had brown dead patches that will require repairs to  restore your lawn. It is important to know how to water your lawn properly, to help with your lawn repair. Water on a routine basis so that the grass roots go deep, rather than stay shallow searching for inadequate water supply. This means watering enough that your lawn receives a minimum of one inch of water weekly.

Core Aeration and Overseeding:

Lawns already show prior damage from fungus. Be proactive and order Core Aeration and Overseeding. This helps revitalize your lawn. Machines pull plugs from your lawn, relieving soil compaction and increasing turf root growth.  Now the lawn is ready for overseeding. We perform a double pass, with the second pass on a cross pattern to ensure maximum coverage. Aeration allows the lawn to breathe, with better water and nutrient penetration into the root zone, and allows for quicker root spread, which thickens the turf and provides drought protection. This gives you a healthier stand of turf. This is done in the fall when conditions are cooler, and rain is more prevalent.

Flea, Tick, Mosquito Control:

Recent downpours mean wet lawns and standing water, causing an abundance of mosquitoes. Enjoy your outdoor spaces by keeping fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes away with our monthly spraying program.

Mowing:

When mowing during periods of extreme temperature, your lawn should be cut at four inches or higher. This helps shade the root zone and aids in retaining moisture in the soil.
