Bucks County Community College proudly presents Bucks Live!, a series of innovative programs that entertain, inspire and enrich Bucks County’s cultural landscape. Take in world-class live music, dance and theatrical performances close to home and at an affordable price.

This fall, step back in time with a pair of rock concerts paying tribute to Steely Dan, the Grateful Dead and the Beach Boys. Also on the calendar is a free comedy show and a piano virtuoso playing the music of Sting.

On Saturday, Oct. 10, Steely Dead takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. It’s a nostalgic trip through the golden era of rock that fuses the precision of Steely Dan with the Grateful Dead’s free-flowing, melodic improvisation and masterful song segues.

Then at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, Lights Out: The Jersey Beach Boys combine the sounds of the West Coast with the moves of the East. The one-of-a-kind, fully choreographed show is complete with iconic harmonies, comedy and audience interaction.

Get ready for lots of laughs with the free Bucks Improv Comedy show at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27. Bucks students are joined by comedy pros as they improvise based on audience suggestions under the direction of faculty member Jason Scott Quinn.

And a piano virtuoso comes to Newtown at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, when ELEW Plays Sting. Eric Lewis – known as ELEW – reimagines Sting’s iconic songs through his electrifying rock-jazz style.  Known for his intense, theatrical performances, ELEW often incorporates percussive techniques directly inside the piano.

All performances take place in the Zlock Performing Arts Center on the Newtown campus at 275 Swamp Rd. in Newtown, where there is ample free parking. Come early for refreshments at the Zlock Lobby Bar.  Learn more and purchase tickets at bucks.edu/tickets.
